The BTS Trilogy Part 2: The Desolation of the Website

The BTS Trilogy Part 2: The Desolation of the Website

As the first real step in BTS’s journey to a better world, we started with the website which, to be frank, was looking dated. It might have looked fine 16+ years ago, (which was pretty much the last time we gave it much thought!) but in 2020 was a poor reflection of the values and support that BTS were out living by and delivering on a daily basis. So, it needed to go. Plus Jeff and Luiza, the two BTS directors don’t look that their photos anymore (they have improved with age, they tell us). There is absolutely no chance of Luiza fitting into that dress now, and as for Jeff and that head of hair, there’s another story…

As you may expect, a full website revamp is easier said than done. First of all you have to decide why the re-brand is needed. What value will the changes bring to BTS and our clients? Then it’s who you want to do the re-brand, which is difficult enough in itself with so many options out there to choose from. Only then can you start to get creative and decide what the new BTS look and feel should be. Jeff and Luiza knew what they wanted: something more modern that was, at the same time, real, honest and not the usual corporate, bland style that is 10 a penny.

We wanted the BTS website to reflect us, who we are, what we do and what makes us quirky (now there’s a big list). We wanted the site to be easy to navigate, informative and to show learners what BTS do and how we do it.

As you can imagine, with that wish-list, it took us a while to come up with a vaguely finished product. Even what we are initially launching as our new BTS website will continue to be a work in progress as we proactively improve our offering and react to clients’ needs.

Do you like what we have done with the place?

We love the new BTS logo and graphics (many of which we produced ourselves as an addition to the input we received from a professional design firm).

We have included lots of learner testimonials, but not just in the usual fashion. As we said earlier, ‘keeping it real’ is key to how BTS operate. The testimonials include short bios and videos written and recorded by the very people that have experienced ‘the BTS way’. We were not keen on videos that were ‘professionally staged’. That’s just not us! We wanted recordings and videos that are authentic, and came from the hearts of our clients and candidates, including bloopers that would usually be edited out.

We have included some never-before publicly shared information relating to Luiza and Jeff’s journey, both in terms of why they decided to set up BTS and also the journey they have been on since that initial decision. It will help show what makes these two directors such a killer team together at the helm of the company.

The website also includes some example learner journeys.

One of the questions we often get asked is “How long should it take to complete the CII level 4 qualification?” And our answer is usually… “it depends”. On our new website will include some example R0 timelines for both a full time learner and one who is juggling this journey with a full-time job.

We have many more great plans for the BTS website that are waiting in the wings for their chance to shine, so we’ll ask you again to ‘watch this space’.

Get In Touch and tell us what you think and what else you would like to see. We have loads of ideas but are always willing to add some extras to the list!
