Our revision workshops focus on the highest-weighted learning outcomes. For R05, this means Learning Outcomes 3, 4 and 5. A BTS trainer will guide you through a focused, interactive day with other learners, helping you build exam technique, question-answering skills and confidence with the CII’s wording. R05 workshop dates are added throughout the year. If you can’t see a suitable date, get in touch to ask about other options. This is a 1-day workshop. The workshop starts with LO3 looking at the main state benefits and any changes that have happened to them. We then look at LO4 – types of life policies, such as term assurance, whole of life, and endowment policies and factors that influence how they are set up and policy features, benefits, and limitations, including how they meet different protection needs.  Moving on to the application of these products in real-life scenarios, such as family protection, mortgage repayment, and business continuity and touching on the underwriting and claims process. Under LO5, we look at the main taxes and how they are applied to life assurance and pensions-based policies, including understanding of income tax implications for certain policy payouts and potential IHT on death benefits.
