Achieve an R06 exam pass using the BTS STEP approach
This is the final module needed to achieve the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. It brings together all the knowledge gained throughout the previous modules. Candidates are expected to apply what they know to case studies to test the practical application of the technical knowledge they have learned. Worth 30 credits and with a recommended 100 hours of study, this is the largest unit of all.
Start your revision process by working through the BTS R06 study guide well in advance of your exam. From there, do as many past papers as you can, self-marking them to see how well you are answering the different styles of question that can come up. Then, when the case studies are released (approximately two weeks before the exam date), start on your own personal analysis. What do you know? What do you not know? What possible technical areas could come up?
The final part of your preparation is attending a BTS R06 workshop. BTS run open R06 preparation workshops for each exam sitting which focus on the case studies, possible question answers and revision of key technical areas.
