J02 Shop

J02 is a Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) level 4 exam. It’s an unusual exam, in that it isn’t just part of one qualification.

It is a suitable qualification for anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge and understanding of trusts, and it counts towards the Diploma in Financial Planning. It is also a qualification that is often used as credits towards a level 6 Advanced Diploma; a key part of acquiring Chartered Financial Planner status via the CII. J02 carries 20 Diploma Level CII credits.

Achieving a pass in J02 helps candidates demonstrate that they have in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of trusts, and can apply that knowledge to the main principles and processes. It also shows an ability to analyse core and specialist financial planning areas.

The J02 exam is available to sit in March and September each year. The exam lasts for two hours, and candidates provide typed answers to short-answer questions, using the text boxes contained within the CII / PSI exam system. In 2024, the national pass rate was 62%.
